The world's best medical school interview preparation course. Now available as a series of 80+ videos and articles with 5+ hours of content for structured interviews and Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs).

Interview Course Overview

This is the video version of the 6med Interview Crash Course, the course that I taught for five years to hundreds of students across the UK.

It's got video tutorials on how to tackle all aspects of the interview, including common questions, medical ethics, professionalism and current affairs. It's also got sections dedicated to communication skills, and a large selection of MMI scenarios with explanations and commentary.

I would suggest having a look through some of the free content below, and if you like the style of teaching, you may like to sign up for full access to the entire library of videos 😁

PS: You'll find information about our Bursaries system at the bottom of this page.

Common Questions

In this section of the course, I will talk about various questions that are commonly asked in MMIs and panel interviews. I suggest some ways in which you might like to answer the question, and then offer a 'mock answer' of sorts.

Please remember that our examples are just that - examples. They're not answers you should try to memorise and regurgitate. They're simply here to give you a flavour, an idea of what makes a decent answer, so you can apply those principles to your own answers.

At the end of this section, I've linked the YouTube videos I've made tackling more common questions like 'Why Medicine?' and 'Tell us about your Work Experience' etc.

Enjoy!

Current Affairs

In this section, I will go over some of the important 'current affairs' topics that they like to ask about in medical school interviews. I'll keep this section updated each year with videos and text articles for the most relevant stuff.

In general, though I recommend browsing through BBC Health or the Guardian health news once a week or so, and reading the Student BMJ in the months before your interview so that you've got an idea of what the hot topics are for that year.

Medical Ethics, Law and Professionalism

In this section, I will cover the basics (and beyond) of common topics within medical ethics and law. Even if you're not signing up for the full course, I'd highly recommend watching the freely available YouTube videos - they're an easy way to get up-to-speed with pretty much all the ethics stuff you need to know :)

MMI Scenarios - Multiple Mini Interviews

In this section, I will take you through various MMI scenarios, the sorts you might reasonably expect to see in your interviews.

Please don't just watch the videos passively - it's really important that you take the time to go through the MMI scenario yourself, preferably with a friend acting as an 'interviewer', and only when you've given the scenario a shot should you watch our video about it.

I hope you find these useful 😁

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between this online course and the 6med Interview Crash Course?

The 6med Interview Crash Course is pretty similar to this in terms of content, but it's all in one day and goes by very quickly!

Honestly, if you have a good attention span and can 'cram' information in short periods of time then you might just want to stick with the 6med Crash Course - it's more intensive and just as comprehensive as this video course.

However, if you think you might learn better from having a teacher like me explaining stuff to you at your own pace, then you'll probably find this online video course super helpful.

I've been on your 6med Interview Crash Course in real life. Is there any point in me paying for this online course?

It's complicated... While the content is broadly similar, this online course works nicely as a companion to the classroom 6med Interview Crash Course. The problem with the classroom course is that (by design) it's very intense, and we go through a tonne of content in a single day. This can often be overwhelming for some students, and so if you've attended the course but want a reference that you can revisit at your own pace, this online course is perfect for that.

What if I don't like the course?

That's okay. If you don't like the course, just drop me an email within 7 days of signing up and I'll give you a full refund (the Ali Promise). All I ask is that you give me some advice about how I can improve the course.

I want the investment in these courses to be an absolute no-brainer for you. So, if you watch the video lessons, and still don’t find the course useful, drop me  an email and I'll happily refund your full payment within 7 days of purchase. Pretty much no one does as they all (thankfully!) find the courses useful but the guarantee is there for your peace of mind 🙂

Bursaries

Since I started 6med in 2013, I've given out over £200,000 worth of bursaries for our courses to students in financial difficulty.
These online courses are no different - if you'd struggle to pay the price for your medicine application, you can apply for a bursary to cover the cost.
