Interview Crash Course

Interview Crash Course

Congratulations if you’ve got yourself an interview at medical school! You’ve come a long way, but don’t think you’re necessarily on the home stretch because there’s still a long way to go. We’ve seen many applicants fail to secure an offer simply because they didn’t prepare the necessary groundwork and foundations before the interview. Unlike any other course, getting into medical school is far from being just about academic credentials or even raw intelligence. Instead, selection for medical school implies selection for the medical profession, where upon graduation, the student will be able to practice as a doctor. This is why the selection procedure is so rigorous, and exactly why you must understand what medical schools are looking for.

There’s a lot you can do to prepare yourself and this interview course aims to give you all the tools and fundamental stuff you should have under your belt beforehand. Be careful though, regardless of how good our notes are, you must have an active approach when preparing for interview – get friends and family to test you as much as possible and, throughout the process, you must be willing to be completely honest with yourself and constantly reflect on your weaknesses if you want to improve and yield the best results.

It’s important to realise that there are students out there who just aren’t suited to become future doctors, but at the same time, we genuinely believe that many students don’t secure offers simply because they failed to demonstrate their strongest qualities and be their best selves. Just by understanding and being able to pick out the characteristics, skills and qualities the GMC and medical schools are looking for, you’ll be able to put yourself ahead of the game. This course will also give you the tools you need to bring out those qualities on interview-day, as well as eliminating any bad habits that may bring you down.

Good luck!
